If this isn't Dead Sexy, I don't know what is!

It's just a couple days since that tease Cynthia Cooke was right here on the blog sharing the teaser for her Dead Sexy release, Deadly Secrets, Loving Lies, with us.

I know you've read it before, but here it is again.

Family secrets must be kept, and painful wounds must be ignored.

After an all-out assault by a vicious terrorist bent on destroying her entire family, a former government agent must break the strict rules she has always lived by when she emerges from hiding to reluctantly accept the help of her all-too-sexy ex-lover. Running a deadly race against time, they rush to rescue her kidnapped sister, find her missing father, and bring the notorious villain to justice. But nothing ever goes as planned. Bullets fly, danger abounds, and their passion reignites even faster than the lies are flowing. But their stubbornly held secrets just might spell the end of their rekindled love and hopes for the future...as well as their very lives.

Sounds good, yeah?

Well, now you can feast your eyes on the cover, as well. It's stunning. Just look at this:

And you know what? Since I've got a Dead Sexy release of my own sometime soon, I can look forward to my own cover being just as gorgeous. And in the meantime, you - and I - can enjoy this one!

I'll be first in line when the book goes up for sale on Barnes and Noble and Amazon. The line forms behind me!

Cremains on a Plane

I thought that would get your attention.

In case you missed the news yesterday, here it is:

That play-with-it-for-10-days-to-see-what-happens-WIP I started back in April - the one that's now 53,000 words long and counting - is now officially attached to Entangled Publishing as one of their Dead Sexy titles.

Dead Sexy is their romantic suspense imprint, but really, my book is not that suspenseful. Or at least it's not very dark. I mean, when you put a dashing James Bond type FBI agent and a timid librarian with a carry-on bag full of cremains on a plane together, you'll get something a bit lighter than your standard thriller type suspense. So this is something not too far removed from my mysteries, except in third person POV - his and hers - and with a bit of sex thrown in for good measure. I always found it a bit annoying that I had to stop writing once Derek and Avery closed the bedroom door, and now I don't have to. It's tasteful sex, though. Very vanilla. Cozy sex, if that isn't an oxymoron.

But I digress. This is a shortish book, probably around 60,000 words or so once I finish writing it, which - God willing - will be this weekend. I have no idea when the release date will be, but I have my fingers crossed for late summer/early fall. See, it's a digital release only - ebook, not print - and when you don't have to worry about actually printing them, it doesn't take that long to publish a book. But late summer/early fall is my vision, not necessarily that of my editor or publisher, so I don't know for sure.

But that's my big news for the day. I'll leave you with this lovely picture of Visby, the capital of Gotland, which is the Swedish island in the Baltic where most of the action in the book takes place. (Tee-hee. I said "action." Tee-hee.) Visby is one of those fairytale places: a UNESCO heritage site, nicknamed the city of roses and ruins, and according to the Gutesaga, it's "so bewitched that in the day it sank down and in the night rose again."

I cribbed this picture from this blog. If you want to see more pictures like this, just go there and take a look. Or Google Visby images and see what you get.

Have a great weekend!

Put your hands together, folks, for the fabulous Cynthia Cooke, who is the inaugural author of the Entangled Publishing's brand new Dead Sexy line of romantic suspense digital novels. I'll be publishing a Dead Sexy myself in the near future - the book about the librarian and the FBI agent - but I don't have a release date yet. Cynthia does. Her book will be available very soon. So there you have it! The first exciting title in the first exciting Dead Sexy imprint from Entangled Publishing. Doesn't it sound awesome? Speaking for myself, I can't wait!

So what about you? Do you like romantic suspense? A little romance with your suspense or a little suspense - or mystery - with your romance?

I have to confess, it's probably my favorite genre. Romance without a bit of heart-pounding terror falls sort of flat for me, and mysteries or suspense without some sort of human relationship becomes sort of shallow. Although that could maybe be just me. What do you think?
